Hello all! I've been working in tech since 1995, mostly in support, although I've also been a tech writer and done QA. I took 12 years off to take care of my daughter after her father died, and afterwards I had to start all over again. I'm a support engineer now for a B2B2C SaaS firm in Atlanta. I've been studying coding in hopes of moving on to development. I'm looking forward to getting to know y'all and learning more!
@Cyn Armistead Welcome to Peppercorn! I look forward to supporting you as you move forward. Do make sure to sign up at www.peppercorn.ai/pdpd so you can also access the learning platform and also get added to the weekly coaching calls (optional) :)
@Peppercorn Coach is it possible to move from one cohort to another? I started in this week's Tuesday group, but a work commitment has come up that conflicts with that.
Hello everyone here! My name is Chirag. I am studying graduate law program at New York University School of Law. I expect to receive LLM next year in May 2022. Prior to NYU Law, I worked as a corporate lawyer for 5 years in India and advised entrepreneurs and foreign companies in selecting appropriate form of entity for chosen business and incorporation of start-ups, advised on compliance with data privacy and information technology laws and provided end-to-end transaction management for private equity investments in India. I am looking forward to work in venture capital and emerging companies market in U.S and would be happy to assist entrepreneurs and startups in resolving their legal queries, be it in relation to laws in U.S. or in India.
Hi everyone - just wrote something but I don't think it went through. Hello! Why name is Jia-Lin (pronounced Ja Lin). I am a PhD student at NYU - focusing my studies on undocumented and mixed-status Chinese immigrant families and their educational trajectories. I am looking and applying to academic and non-academic jobs. I was a social worker in NYC for many years serving the same community as my dissertation research. Originally from Taiwan, but grew up as a Third Culture Kid. Like so many here, I am also in the process of major transition. Nice to meet you all :)
@Jia-Lin Liu We hope your journey with Peppercorn Discovery has helped you as you look for What's Next!
You should connect with @Yuri M. as someone who is also connected to the academic world. @chirag jain Maybe you and Jia could also connect as individuals making a transition from another country!
Thank you to you all for being a part of Peppercorn!
Hi everyone, my name is Yuri. I am from Tokyo but am doing all that I can to make the SF Bay Area my home!
I am an aspiring educator (got my teaching credential in English) and would love to work with young people, but I am going back to the corporate world to get my work visa and my green card. I need my freedom before I can do what I want to do.
I love singing. I am also learning percussion from my dear friend and teaching myself guitar. Singing and drumming with others are nourishing my soul :) I hope I can learn to play cello and saxophone within my lifetime too. I sure have a lot to do in this lifetime ;)
@Kirstie Wheeler That is awesome!! Do you sing in a choir or solo? I am taking a vocal class at a community college right now. I am finally learning how to use my voice properly. It is so exciting! :D
@Yuri M. I sing in both settings. I am currently a member of the Tanglewood Chorus (chorus to the Boston Symphony Orchestra) and do solo singing as well. I maintain a voice studio and teach with the McClosky Technique. Looking forward to getting to know you better :-) So excited that you're able to take a vocal class.

I am in transition looking for my next big thing, simultaneously looking for full-time and consulting work and contemplating a new business. I’m looking forward to joining this program to gain some clarity and perspective on my goals and objectives. I hope that working with others will help keep me on track and that we will all keep each other accountable for doing this inner work, which can at times be taxing. Hi everyone! This is Shweta, a Software Developer with 5 years of experience in the industry. Currently, I am on break from work to rediscover myself. During the break time, I have upgraded my skills by working on side projects and taken courses on technology that I wanted to work for. Now, I am ready to find a new job, also, I am looking to market myself, with my past experience and side projects. Apart from the work, I love to make new friends and grow my network.😀
Welcome @shweta pandey ! Bringing together all your past experiences beyond a functional or industry perspective is what Discovery will help you do :). You have vast experiences and learnings and your story will soon align with who you are and what you can offer :)
Hi all! I'm Nina, and I'm excited to join Cohort 14! After graduating with a degree in physics, I've been working in research science and instrument operations for the two years since. My job is pretty technical, and I want to find out how to pivot into something more creative, with a wider variety of projects, and that has a good team dynamic. This program sounds like exactly what I need - a resource to help understand my options and find something I'll truly enjoy!
Welcome @Nina Shirman ! Through Discovery you will learn to see where you could be using your technical and scientific skills in more collaborative / creative ways. It requires some self reflection and research but then you will have a clear and confident story of the opportunities around you.
Hello everyone! I heard about Peppercorn from Elpha. I'm excited and happy to join! I'm a UX bootcamp grad and trying to break into the field. I worked a few contract jobs after getting my bachelors in fine art, but I can't confidently say I have a solid background in any specific field. I'm hoping to find better ways to build confidence and market myself. I also hope to improve my job search/hunt and interview process.
Dear @Lissett Camargo ! Welcome to the Peppercorn Community. Through Discovery we can help you tell your story better and have the right words to showcase your strengths!
Hi Cohort 12! My name is Hayley and I currently live in Dallas ,TX. I need some help figuring out what my next step should be and the advice I have been given is to "just pick something." I currently work as an Executive Assistant at an investment bank supporting our Chief Admin Officer and COO. I keep getting asked "why are you in this role" and told "you are way underutilized." Which only makes me feel more pressure to find my next role. I have dabbled in recruiting, worked in events, and account management. I have masters degree in Journalism and earlier this year passed my Series 7. Looking forward to getting started next week!
Welcome @Hayley Huchton ! You have quite a bit of experience and skill sets that could go in many directions. Timing is right for you if you can articulate the biggest themes of who you are and what you offer. Discovery is going to help you get there :) When you are able to tell your story by focusing on your biggest strengths (not function or industry), you will be able to better guide yourself to the right path for you! See you next week.
Hello everyone! I'm excited to join the Wednesday cohort starting 9/15! I've spent the last year really digging in and doing work around how I want to create the next chapter of my career. I've worked in education for 20+ years and I'm excited to be open to new opportunities. I joined to carve out intentional time each week to focus on really getting clear on what I am ready to do and how to find it.
Welcome @Kirstie Wheeler to Peppercorn Discovery! Glad to hear you have carved out the time to work on figuring out What's Next in your journey. It does require time and patience to truly understand all the pieces that can help us make better decision on how we move forward. I look forward to getting to know you!
Hi Robert. Welcome to the Peppercorn community. As the world changes we hope to provide you the tools and frameworks to take your past experiences to tell the story of how you can be successful for future roles. Your past experiences have provided you with insights and ways of working that need to be translated towards the future :) I look forward to meeting and guiding you.
I'm Rogert Ovalle, I've been working for SMEs and public institutions in a mix of functions regarding process management, innovation, organizational improvement. I've been an entrepreneur with different side hustles during my career.
I'm looking to pivot as a Product Manager / Product Owner role in the tech industry. I've been working on my CV, LinkedIn, working with partners to move to that industry, and getting certifications related to the role. As a result, I've got interviews, I did some technical tests, but unfortunately, my lack of experience in these roles is a weakness for most of the recruiters.
I'm looking for different strategies to achieve the goal!
Hey Everyone! joining in and catching up to speed. My name is Paulomi ( pōlo-mi) and I'm coming out of a sabbatical and preparing for my next career arc.

Hi my name is Sarah I have a Master's degree in Anthropology and am looking to use my research skills in a new way. I have been searching for a job in the Market Research field for several years and decided to look for other ways to use my skills. I have always loved the creative fields and found UX Research and Design. I took a CareerFoundry UX design course and a Voice Interface design course and now feel my skills are at a place that I can actually start looking for a job in UX. My mentor Micah Boswell told me about this community. I hope that I can make some connections that will help me to find and land my dream job.
Welcome @SarahAnn McCormick ! Glad to have you join us and thanks to Micah for sending you our way. We have a few folks who have done the same course and it would be great for you to be connected to them and chat with them! Please meet @Jodi McCall@melodymay.hughes@Raylane Amaral. I look forward to getting to know you over the next couple of weeks!
Hi Everyone, my name is Andy and apologies for not being able to attend the first meeting last week, something came up last minute that needed my attention. I briefly looked over some of the other introductions and mine is similar and yet different. I worked in tech for over 37 years, in both start-ups and Fortune 500s. Most of my career has been in the SF Bay Area, but have been out of the workforce for the last 3. I am trying to figure out what to do next as a second act so that is what peaked my interest in the Peppercorn program.
@andypaulis Great to have you as part of this cohort! I am sure you will have a lot to offer in terms of perspective from your first act and the Discovery program will help you figure out your second act! Taking into consideration all the experience, skills and who you are to figure out what to go after and tell your story for What's Next!
Great to see you here Andy! I do hope you will enjoy the journey of searching for your next act. I have appreciated the activities and time to think about what to do next. And I will admit to not having solved it yet....
Hi Everyone, My name is Emily, and I lead Legal and Global Admin for a global non-profit. I'm looking for my next challenge and the opportunity to have a bigger impact. i look forward to connecting through this community.
I am Mahsa. I am a Mechanical Engineering student. I'm going to graduate with my BSc in a few weeks. But because I have discovered management and leadership potentials in myself I'm thinking maybe it's better for me to have a more business-related role. I'm trying to find out whether it is a good choice for me or not. And if yes, which career is best for me.
Dear @mahsa goudarzi - Welcome to Discovery. I look forward to supporting you in this journey. It's great you are already on the journey of self awareness and Discovery will give you the tools and ways to help make these decisions to take you forward.
Hi all! My name is Smita. I'm based in Mumbai and am part of Cohort 11. I am in my transition phase. I quit my job in social impact consulting to transition into tech.I am passionate about tech4good. I am in the process of ideation and development of a storytelling platform for kids. I joined this community because I have been worried about my career - what happens if i fail? will I get a job after, in what? all these questions really dampen my spirit and i am eager to put a process to it. I am excited to see people in different stages of transition here :)
Hi @Smita Kumar Thank you for joining Discovery. Kudos for taking the risk to be an entrepreneur! No matter what your journey - you have something to offer. The experiences you gain in this chapter can always be retold in such a way to show what you offer for other roles in the future (if need be). I look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey to What's Next!
This is Prasenjit(PJ) Adhikari, joining you from San Diego, CA, USA.
Professionally and personally, I am going through a transition. Having spent the bulk of time in the USA in a colder climate, I recently moved to the warmer weather of the southern USA and enjoying every bit of it. I am taking a short break on the work front to figure out how to spend the rest of my professional career. The first half of my career was defined more by necessity, but I want the rest to be guided by something I would genuinely enjoy.
I am excited to join a talented international group of individuals to share, learn and grow.
Dear @adhikari.prasenjit - Thank you for joining us and also giving back to the group with your experiences, knowledge and insights. Discovery is all about giving back and receiving for our own journeys. Discovery will also help you not only figure out what's next for the immediate future but give you the tools, frameworks and ways of thinking to make these decisions in the future when What's Next changes again :)
Hello everyone! My name is Shannon and I'm excited to be a part of this cohort while I transition my career from entrepreneurship into an organization. My background is varied including retail management, business development and a master degree in Intercultural relations. I'm looking to transition my career into a customer success or client services role, focused on relationship building and managing diverse stakeholders.
Dear @Shannon Carleton. Thank you for your introduction. Career pivots has become something that more people are doing and through Discovery you will learn how to tell your story to pivot where you want to go with the experiences, skills and knowledge you already have! Along with bringing your entire self to the table.
Hello new friends & especially Tuesday cohort -- I'm Davida Steinberg, in Atlanta suburbs :) Since I earned my MBA about 15 years ago, I've focused my career in environmental sustainability for businesses, with some government & nonprofit work, too. I fell into consulting and have enjoyed it but I'm here at a transition point because I am:
- seeking something more steady, and I'm
- willing to look outside the environmental sector, but
-I need to have a passion about what I do.
-I'm not quite ready to flesh out my own freelance shop, either.
-BONUS: As a woman in my early 40s, I am newly diagnosed with ADHD/ADD... I pursued a diagnosis after some poor workplace communication made me think "what is wrong with me?!" I am excited to use my newfound knowledge to focus on what is RIGHT with me, and looking forward to learning from your transitions, too. Thank you to @urvi bhandari for leading the way!
Dear @steinberg.davida Thank you for sharing your story and I look forward to supporting you as you bring together all the pieces of the puzzle. I hear you about thinking about "what is wrong with me". With Peppercorn Discovery we aim to get you comfortable with who you are and be able to articulate that to others!! So you can be you and thrive in the right environments for yourself!
Hi. May name is Ana (Henao) and I‘m going thru a career transition. I want to make the best decision on my career love based on my passions and self knowledge. I have a career in marketing and most recent as a general manager in FMCG companies
Hi @Ana Henao Welcome to Peppercorn Discovery! We look forward to getting to know you and supporting you on your journey for What's Next based on who you are, what you offer and where you want to go!!
Hello all, lovely to be here as part of the Peppercorn community. I was struggling with these questions: - who am I having defined myself for the longest time based on roles - daughter, wife and mother. - what do I want out of life for myself and not based on role and obligations, - what do I want to do with joy and passion and be fulfilled.
I transitioned from Digital Media Communications to Full Stack Development having stepped down twice from leadership roles to starting at a Junior position. That takes a whole mind shift and getting comfortable with being a junior in skill but not a junior by experience. I am glad I found Peppercorn Discovery.
Dear Naijeria! Through Discovery we will definitely help you get more clarity on these questions. I look forward to continued conversations! Feel free to put your questions and thoughts out within the community to get insights and advice from others!
Hi Everyone! I'm Sénamé, I'm just starting in tech. I graduated from a bootcamp in March and I am looking for my first role as a full stack developer. I am excited to be part of the community and I'm looking forward to get to know you all! 😊
Dear Sénamé! Welcome to Peppercorn. I look forward to getting to know you and supporting your new journey into the tech. Please feel free to look around the community and connect with others. Also do post your questions and thoughts!
Hi everyone, so excited to meet you all! I'm Victoria. I'm currently teaching English in Korea.
While most of my experience has involved teaching thus far, I'm yearning for a career that showcases more of who I am and what I can do. My work themes include problem solving, creating and solving puzzles, brilliant creativity, organizing, and creating high-quality, high-value programs.
My other interests include coaching, writing, and public speaking. (There's a lot!) I've been 'stuck' trying to distill all of my core passions into an integrated, focused blueprint that feels like me and gets me excited about my work. I'm really looking forward to seeing how Peppercorn will lead me forward!
I'm Lauren and was in Urvi's cohort that on Tuesdays at noon . If anyone else here was in that specific one please let me know. Would be great to connect.
I'm starting an Artist Residency hybrid situation starting officially tomorrow but we had a Zoom hello today. It is all based around VR and immersive storytelling. All of this is incredibly exciting for me because I think blending the two and having seen the outcome by others is incredibly thrilling. Another way to be immersed in storylines and build upon empathy.
Greetings! My name is Melissa and I am so glad to be here among the Peppercorn Community. I am in the midst of trying to narrow down what my next work experience could be coming from a varied background in education and other adventures.
I want to use my skills and interests - building teams, problem solving, creating impactful programs - to help a company/team be the best they can be.
I would be interested in hearing other stories from you about career pivots and change, along with agile project management in the non-technical world.
Hey all great to be here - the cohort sessions over the last few weeks have been amazing. Thanks @urvi bhandari !I'm currently a venture capital investor in London having had a career in both finance and operating as a founder and in a scaleup. Would love to connect with others working on their own new ventures/projects/consulting gigs to discuss as I'm currently brainstorming some ideas. Also happy to help where I can on all things fundraising, scaling, founding painpoints etc.

Welcome everyone!! So exciting to see you all join our Peppercorn community. I'm Lirui and I am one of the advisors on the Peppercorn team, focusing on building our community. Look forward to hearing your questions and comments as you embark on this journey of discovery.
Dear @ebzuckerman ! Welcome to the community! I look forward to getting to know you and learning more about your experiences in the non profit world.
Hi Everyone, My name is Emily, and I lead Legal and Global Admin for a global non-profit. I'm looking for my next challenge and the opportunity to have a bigger impact. i look forward to connecting through this community.
Hi everybody! Happy to be here!
Hi all! My name is Smita. I'm based in Mumbai and am part of Cohort 11. I am in my transition phase. I quit my job in social impact consulting to transition into tech. I am passionate about tech4good. I am in the process of ideation and development of a storytelling platform for kids. I joined this community because I have been worried about my career - what happens if i fail? will I get a job after, in what? all these questions really dampen my spirit and i am eager to put a process to it. I am excited to see people in different stages of transition here :)
Hello, Peppercorn.AI community,
This is Prasenjit(PJ) Adhikari, joining you from San Diego, CA, USA.
I look forward to connecting with you all!
Hi. May name is Ana (Henao) and I‘m going thru a career transition. I want to make the best decision on my career love based on my passions and self knowledge. I have a career in marketing and most recent as a general manager in FMCG companies
Hi Everyone! I'm Sénamé, I'm just starting in tech. I graduated from a bootcamp in March and I am looking for my first role as a full stack developer. I am excited to be part of the community and I'm looking forward to get to know you all! 😊
Hi everyone!
Thanks @urvi bhandari ! I'm currently a venture capital investor in London having had a career in both finance and operating as a founder and in a scaleup. Would love to connect with others working on their own new ventures/projects/consulting gigs to discuss as I'm currently brainstorming some ideas. Also happy to help where I can on all things fundraising, scaling, founding painpoints etc.
Hello everyone!! My name is Raylane and I am currently switching careers to UX Design. I have a background in education (Biology teacher) and just had a 2 years gap due to an exchange program abroad. Now that I am ready to find a new job, I am learning how I could use my skills from past experiences to market myself. I would love to network! :)
Hi everyone! I am Atira. I am a tech professional and currently on a break from work to rediscover myself. I love to meet people and grow my network.
Nice to meet you all! I’m Melody. I’m pivoting to UX design, and my background is in education (teaching, admin, curriculum design). I love hearing other people’s career stories, and learning more about best practices for marketing myself and navigating the job search / interview process.
