In our session this week, I asked the attendees what their goal was over the holidays in terms of Discovery. Most of them answered that they would try to finish whatever current module they were on so that they could get closer to finishing.
My response was counterintuitive to what they were expecting!
As you go into the holidays - take some time off from searching for What's Next! Let your brain have some time to process the year, your life, and even anything new you have learned in searching for What's Next. Don't have an expectation that you are going to finish a module in Discovery. Instead know that when you return in January, you will go ahead and schedule the time now to complete what needs to be done.
We underestimate the need and the benefits of letting our brain take a break. If by chance you have some time and you really want to work on Discovery you can but don't put that expectation on yourself. Instead, spend the time getting away from working and your computer. Do things that give you joy and fulfillment over the holiday season. For some that are spending time alone and for others that may be spending time with family and friends. Each of us is different but there is one commonality in that we are all human and individuals which means the brain needs rest too!
Wishing everyone very happy holidays or time off (if you don't celebrate any holidays at this time) and looking forward to seeing you all in the new year!
